Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Reck’N Inc. collects from the people who use our apps, why, and who else sees it.

It covers two apps, and they are not the same:

Where the two collect different things, this policy says which app it is talking about. Where it does not say, it applies to both.

What we collect

Your account and profile

Your email address and password are what sign you in. The rest is profile information you choose to fill in, and you can edit or clear it in the app.

What you do in the app

Reck’N: the venues and events you look at, your check-ins, your bookings, and the orders and tickets you buy.

Reck’N Host: your venue details, menus and event listings, the photos you upload for them, and the orders, tickets and check-ins processed through your venue.

Both: the messages and requests you send us through the Help Center.

Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered into Stripe’s software and go to Stripe directly — we never receive or store them. What we keep is the record of the transaction: amount, currency, date, status, and the last four digits and card brand Stripe returns to us.

If you take payouts through Reck’N Host, Stripe also collects the identity and bank details it needs to verify you, under its own agreement with you.

Location

The two apps use location differently, and it is worth being precise about it.

Reck’N (guests). While the app is open, we use your location to show you venues and events near you. On iPhone and iPad, if you grant the “Always” location permission, the app also checks your location in the background for one purpose: to notice when you have left a venue so it can end your check-in automatically instead of leaving you checked in all night. On Android, the app does not use location in the background at all — it holds no background location permission.

Reck’N Host. Location is used only while the app is open, and only for card payments. Stripe requires the location of the device taking a card payment for its own fraud and compliance checks, and its software reads that location when you connect a card reader or take a Tap to Pay payment. That is the only reason Reck’N Host asks for location. Reck’N Host never collects location in the background, on any platform, and holds no permission to do so.

In both apps you can decline or withdraw the location permission in your device settings. Doing so stops the features above; the rest of each app keeps working.

Camera, photos and microphone

Reck’N: the camera scans venue and check-in QR codes, and the camera, microphone and photo library let you capture and attach photos and videos to your profile and to the moments you share.

Reck’N Host: the camera scans ticket QR codes at the door, and the camera and photo library attach images to your profile, your venue, your menu and your events.

Photos and videos you choose are uploaded and stored with the account, venue or event they belong to. Neither app reads your photo library beyond the items you pick.

Contacts

Your contacts are never sent to us.

When you invite people to an event, the app shows your contact list so you can choose who to invite. The names and numbers you select are handed straight to your device’s own messaging or share sheet, on your device, to fill in the recipients of a message you send yourself. Nothing from your contacts reaches our servers, and we keep no copy of it. This is true of both apps.

Calendar

Reck’N only. If you ask the app to add an event to your calendar, it needs calendar access to write that entry. We do not read your calendar for any other purpose and we do not send its contents to our servers.

Unlocking with biometrics

Reck’N only. If you turn on fingerprint or face unlock, your device performs the check and tells the app yes or no. Your fingerprint or face data never leaves your device and we never receive it.

Device and diagnostic information

Crash reporting is configured not to attach personal information to these reports.

What we use it for

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers, each for a specific job, each handling only what that job needs:

We also disclose information when the law requires it, and to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

What we do not do

Security

Traffic between the apps and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Keeping and deleting your information

You can ask us to delete your account at any time. How to do that, and what deletion does and does not remove, is set out on our account deletion page.

In short: deletion deactivates your account and takes your profile out of view. It does not erase the records behind it. Orders, payments, payouts, and the events and tickets other people took part in are retained, because they form part of financial and tax records and of events that involved other people. We do not currently apply an automatic erasure period to them. If you want your personal data erased rather than your account deactivated, say so in your request and we will handle it individually.

Children

Our apps are for venues, events and nightlife. They are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will tell you in the app as well.
